Dear colleagues:
Consultations: Call my cell number and if I do not answer please leave a detailed text message or voicemail message. If you need a reply urgently, please indicate "urgent" in the message. Billing is done based on the amount of time required. Generally, most consultations average 50.00 per consult.
Surgery Service: A list of procedures that are able to be done can be viewed by going to the page "surgery performed" on this website. If you have any questions, please simply call or text me on my cell phone (706-296-7020). Not all procedures I do are listed in this website. Please also call me to gain an estimate for the procedure requested.
The following introductory letter is published below to provide an introduction to Dr. Crowe and the Mobile Veterinary Surgery of Georgia practice. If there are any questions all veterinarians are encouraged to simply call:
Dear Colleague:
Thank you for visiting this website. This introductory letter is addressed to all small animal practice veterinarians and emergency clinics even greater than 150 miles of Athens, GA. I writing to you to offer you my services as a board certified and mobile surgeon. I do all types of orthopedic, soft tissue, neuro, and oral surgery and have greater than 42 years' experience as a surgeon. Benefits for you, with me completing the surgery needed at your practice, rather than you referring the patient, are client convenience and thankfulness, as they do not have to go elsewhere for the surgery; your complete retention of the patient; and your retention of all income generated associated with the procedure (other than a consultation and surgical fee) which then allows a savings to owners when compared to outside referrals as noted by veterinarians who have used my services. (References available on request).
With each surgery I come prepared with all the sterile instrumentation needed to do the surgery including MPL correction, TPLO, stifle stabilization using suture and fascial advancement, fracture repair (plating, ex-fix, pin/wire, etc.), TECA/bulla osteotomy, and perineal hernia repair. (A more complete list of procedures is included on this website)
I will also be available for life saving emergency procedures as well. These may include the acute abdomen, mass associated hemoabdomen, or the down Dachshund losing deep pain that most likely would require me doing a myelogram to identify the spine compression location from ruptured disc material and then immediately doing a hemilaminectomy under the same anesthesia. In the past, as an Assistant and Associate Professor of Surgery at the UGA SA Teaching Hospital, prior to the College hiring specialists in anesthesia, I also directed the anesthesia service though many rotations. Therefore, I also feel comfortable in helping to plan and guide a safe and anesthetic protocol tailored for each patient. Local, regional and epidural anesthesia is commonly added.
I would welcome an opportunity to come and visit with you at your hospital and provide additional information. I also welcome a phone call should you have any questions. I would also welcome any calls to my cell phone 24-7 should you need me or just have a question I might be able to help with. I will generally be able to return your call shortly.
I am confident and hopeful that you will find my services very beneficial for you and your companion animal patients and their owners.
Thank you.
